At the Cavern could have been so much better had it been recorded a couple of years earlier when the Beatles were still plying their trade in Liverpool but there again Decca missed out on them so they wouldn't have been able to appear on this album! Liverpool is represented by Decca artists Beryl Marsden, the brilliant Dennisons, the Big Three and Lee Curtis & The All-Stars while The Marauders (Stoke on Trent) The Fortunes (Birmingham) Heinz- (born in Germany but raised in Southampton), Dave Berry & the Cruisers (Sheffield) and Bernie Elliott and the Fenman (Erith, Kent) also appear.
Star of the show? DJ Bob Wooler who introduces every act on the album in his own inimitable style.
