A DAY IN THE LIFE INTRO

In the days of Beatlemania we lived in an avenue in Manchester, North of England, just 33 miles from the Beatles hometown of Liverpool but in the early sixties it seemed like a World away. The nearest I ever got to Mathew Street in the 60's was my first trip to Goodison Park to watch Everton v Manchester City in 1966. It was a 10 minute drive away but of course as an eleven year old I didn't realise that at the time. READ MORE>>>

28th October 2019    HORNSBY ROAD WITH MARK LEWISOHN

When the Beatles Hornsby Road show was announced featuring Mark Lewisohn it seemed like an ambitious project. I mean, basically it's a presentation on the Beatles Abbey Road album, but in a theatre?
There again, if Dave Gorman can present a show using powerpoint then maybe it could work. READ MORE>>>

20-22 September 2019    SHREWSBURY BEATLES WEEKEND

For some Beatles fans, Beatles Conventions, days, weeks, festivals, call them what you like, are a crucial part of their Beatles calendars. The No.1 festival in the UK is 'International Beatleweek Festival' organised by Cavern City Tours in the Beatles hometown of Liverpool. It's been a permanent fixture on my calendar since 1984. READ MORE>>>

18th June 2011    RINGO STARR, EMPIRE THEATRE, LIVERPOOL

A lot had been said regarding the reaction Ringo Starr would receive if he returned to his hometown after his comment on the Jonathan Ross Show in January 2008. That didn't stop Ringo including Liverpool on the itinerary of his latest European Tour, his first since 1998, but would the people of Liverpool welcome back one of their favourite sons? READ MORE>>>

3rd October 1989    PAUL MCCARTNEY, SPORTSHALLE, HAMBURG, GERMANY

Since Paul McCartney's tour dates were announced, there was always the temptation to see one of his continental gigs before the tour finally arrived in the UK in January 1990.
Cavern City Tours managed to organise a trip to Hamburg for Paul's concert on the 3rd October for the first of a two night stint at the Sportshalle, Hamburg.  READ MORE>>>

September 1983    THE ABBEY ROAD SHOW, ST JOHN'S WOOD, LONDON

Early 1981, I used to go out with a mate for a pint on Friday night, well actually at least five nights a week. He worked in a local factory and it seemed every Friday night we used to bump into a mate from his works along with his brother in law.
One particular Friday I wore a Wings'79 sweatshirt, Phil the brother in law commented on it and asked 'are you a Beatles fan? READ MORE>>>
