A DAY IN THE LIFE INTRO In the days of Beatlemania we lived in an avenue in Manchester, North of England, just 33 miles from the Beatles hometown of Liverpool but in the early sixties it seemed like a World away. The nearest I ever got to Mathew Street in the 60's was my first trip to Goodison Park to watch Everton v Manchester City in 1966. 9th June 2018PAUL McCARTNEY LIVE AT THE PHILHARMONIC PUB Beatlesnow.com is also responsible for holding a regular monthly Beatles night in Manchester City centre. One of the features is our annual Mad Day Out, held mostly in Liverpool. Set for the Saturday, 9th June 2018 a few of us set off to visit the John & Yoko, Double Fantasy exhibition at the Museum of Liverpool and a trip out to Port Sunlight but everything was about to change. LIVERPOOL 1990 In October 1977, the first Beatles Convention was held at Mr Pickwick's Club in Liverpool. Organised by early Beatles manager Allan Williams & legendary Cavern DJ Bob Wooler it provided live music, guests, video screenings and an opportunity for Beatles fans to come together in their hometown of Liverpool. 3rd October 1989 PAUL MCCARTNEY, SPORTSHALLE, HAMBURG, GERMANY Since Paul McCartney's tour dates were announced, there was always the temptation to see one of his continental gigs before the tour finally arrived in the UK in January 1990. Cavern City Tours managed to organise a trip to Hamburg for Paul's concert on the 3rd October for the first of a two night stint at the Sportshalle, Hamburg. READ MORE>>>
September 1983THE ABBEY ROAD SHOW, ST JOHN'S WOOD, LONDON Early 1981, I used to go out with a mate for a pint on Friday night, well actually at least five nights a week. He worked in a local factory and it seemed every Friday night we used to bump into a mate from his works along with his brother in law. One particular Friday I wore a Wings'79 sweatshirt, Phil the brother in law commented on it and asked 'are you a Beatles fan? READ MORE>>>
