REVIEW
The Wedding Album was originally released through Apple Records on 7th November 1969.
It was John & Yoko's third 'experimental music' recording after Unfinished Music, No. 1: Two Virgins & Unfinished Music, No. 2: Life with the Lions and contained just two songs, John & Yoko and Amsterdam.
It's a welcome re issue for collectors as original copies of the Wedding Album are difficult or expensive to find in excellent condition complete with all artifacts intact.
While the 1997 CD release included three bonus tracks, Who Has Seen The Wind, Listen, The Snow Is Falling and Don't Worry Kyoko, the 2019 box set includes, and quite rightly so in my opinion, only the original two songs.
Good news is all the original artifacts including copies of the plain white "Made in Gt Britain" inner bag, double-sided poster entitled 'The Wedding', a photograph of a piece of their wedding cake, copy of the marriage certificate, cartoon strip by John of the wedding, PVC Bagism bag, four passport photos, Hair Peace/Bed Peace postcard, 'The Press' and a 20-page booklet of press cuttings are included within the Wedding Album.
While you'll only play the CD or white/clear vinyl LP once or not at all, it's still a welcome release and a nice and reasonably priced addition to any Beatles collection.
