This neat little 56 page booklet was published by The Walrus to tie in with the 1987 Beatles Convention in Liverpool. The buzz around the city was just who is the Walrus? When the booklet sold out during the Convention, luckily he was revealed.
Beatle People delivers what it says on the tin, a collection of words & pictures of mostly Liverpudlians connected with the city and in most cases the Liverpool Beatles Convention.
What's sad 30 years later is the number of people featured in the book who have passed on including Allan Williams, Sam Leach, Tony Sheridan, George Martin, 'Father' Tom McKenzie, Cynthia Lennon, Uncle Charlie Lennon, Cilla Black & Cavern DJ Bob Wooler who penned the delightful introduction.
Thirty years later I should imagine 'Beatle People' is quite difficult to get hold of but Ebay and Record Fairs may be the best place to shop.
Meanwhile, who was the Walrus? Well, as John Lennon says, "You Should Have Been There"
