Now what are the Funk Brothers, Tamla Motown's legendary house band doing on a Beatles website?
They were due to play the Apollo Theatre, Manchester in 2003 with guest vocalists Isaac Hayes and Stevie Winwood.
When we arrived at the venue there was a poster advising that the Funk Brothers were sorry but Isaac Hayes couldn't appear tonight but Billy Preston would be taking his place.
No disrespect to Isaac Hayes but Billy was an ideal replacement!
