Howie Casey and the Seniors started life in 1960 as Derry and the Seniors with Derry Wilkie on vocals.
They were the first band from Liverpool to play in Germany, paving the way for The Beatles and other Merseybeat bands to perform in the legendary clubs in Hamburg.
After the band split they reformed in 1962 as Howie Casey and the Seniors becoming the first Merseybeat band to record an LP. 'Twist at the Top' featured Derry Wilkie alongside Freddie Fowell on vocals, later known as Freddie Starr.
Derry Wilkie died in December 2001 but Howie Casey continues to perform with his band Broken Wings, he's also a regular performer at Beatles Conventions worldwide...
